Description
19th Century Greek Orthodox Silver Phylactery/Amulet Box
High relief carving on face featuring the classic Byzantine representation of the Holy Trinity with intricate border and Greek text translating to "Holy Trinity" at top. Unsure of translation of lower text.
Reverse is low relief with Greek text at top translating to "All Saints" or "Saints Everywhere". Again unsure of translation of lower text.
Top of amulet box slides open and is hollow inside to hold religious scrolls.
Four rings attached to side to hold chain. Box itself is silver, though unsure of exact silver content. Chain is some sort of base metal and has some flawed/bent links - pictured.
